Oral Roberts sophomore Jack Whitt placed second in the pole vault at the NCAA Track and Field Championships, which began Wednesday in Des Moines, Iowa.
The Norman native cleared 17-feet, 6 and a half inches, two inches behind Washington's Scott Roth, who earned the title.
Whitt is one of two ORU track and field performers competing in the NCAA championships. Clive Chafausipo will compete in the long jump, which begins Thursday.
