Schools Asking for Waiver, Excusing Weather Related Closings

(KATV) The floods, last month's tornadoes, plus all the snow Arkansas had earlier in the year made for a lot of missed days at area schools.

Some have even fallen below the 178 days schools are required to be in session.

Now, campuses are asking for waivers so students won't have to make up those missed days.

Vilonia, Alpena, Huntsville and Beebe are expected to make requests to the State Board of Education Monday. Several school districts have already received waivers.
