Roads Closed in Arkansas Due to Flooding

(KATV) Saturday night into Sunday morning there was excessive rainfall and widespread flooding across much of the state. The rain didn't let up until mid morning, causing flash flooding and reporters of four inches to waist deep water.

According to the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management, more than 20 people were evacuated Sunday from Highway 89 between Mayflower and Vilonia.

Throughout the state firefighers evacuated homes and stranded motorist. A Channel Seven viewer sent in pictures of waist deep water in her Maumelle home. Many families had to be rescued by boat. 

Toad Suck Daze officials tell Channel Seven the last day of the event (Sunday) has been canceled because of flooding and more potential rain and severe weather.

Update:Pulaski/Lonoke Co: US 67 SB, 23mm to the 22mm and from the 19mm to the 11mm. US 67 NB at the 22mm in Austin closed.

White Co: US 67 SB at the 28mm in Beebe closed due to high water. Traffic is being re-routed onto Hwy 64.

Pulaski Co: Hwy 10 Section 8 at Cantrell & Bella Rosa about 4 miles west of I-430.

Pulaski Co: Hwy 300 Section 2, ½ mile west of Hwy 10 is closed due to washed out culvert.

Pulaski Co: Hwy 10 Section 8 at Cantrell & Bella Rosa about 4 miles west of I-430 has been reopened.

Clay Co: Hwy 62 Section 20 from Corning to McDougal has been re-opened.

Clay Co: Hwy 135 from Hwy 62 to Hwy 90 has been re-opened.

Randolph Co: Hwy 67 at Current River from Pocahontas to Corning has been re-opened.

Update: Randolph Co: Hwy 67 South of Pocahontas from Hwy 304 to the Lawrence county line is closed.

Pulaski / Lonoke Co: US 67 from the 13mm at Jacksonville to the 19mm in Cabot is closed due to high water. Traffic is being re-routed.

St Francis Co: Hwy 1 at Haynes closed.

St Francis Co: Hwy 1 south of Forrest City Bypass to Lee County Line N/B and S/B closed.

Lawrence Co: Hwy 63 from Hoxie to Portia has been re-opened.

Randolph Co: Hwy 328 at Section 1A from log mile 5.0 to 8.0 between Reyno and Maynard has been re-opened.
