LITTLE ROCK – The city has two new pieces of sculptured art, thanks to the Vogel Schwartz Foundation and the Little Convention and Visitor's Bureau.

"Infinity", a yellow sculpture made of one-inch-thick steel that sits on a granite column, was placed in the Vogel Schwartz Sculpture Garden on Thursday morning.  The sculpture garden, which now contains more than 30 original works of art, is located under the Main Street Bridge, adjacent to the Peabody Hotel.

Vice Mayor Dean Kumpuris, who has been the driving force in development of the River Market district and the sculpture garden praised Robert Vogel of the foundation for providing the majority of funding for the sculptures.   Vogel and other families members and members of the foundation were on hand for Thursday's unveiling.

Not far away, at the Statehouse Convention Center another sculpture, "Re-Convene" is being placed in the rotunda.

Artist Kathleen Caricof of Loveland, Colorado designed both sculptures.

Central Arkansas residents are familiar with Caricof's work, as she has sculptures throughout Little Rock, including one at the entrance of War Memorial Stadium entitled "Stars and Stripes".
