(KATV) Little Rock - A Little Rock radio station is back on the air with a standby transmitter at low power after a fire damaged its primary transmitter.
According to a post on KUAR-FM's website Sunday, the nonprofit radio station is using a standby transmitter to broadcast and is also streaming its programming online. The transmitter is insured.
The fire started around 5:30 p.m. Saturday night at the primary transmitter.
Little Rock Fire Department is investigating the blaze. A fire official says fire appears suspicious and a fire marshal is investigating. It appears someone cut the chains and broke into the tower building on Shinnal Mountain.
In two-weeks KUAR will hold their annual spring fundraiser.
