The University of Arkansas announced its 2010-11 basketball schedule Tuesday, which features a dozen contests against postseason teams.
The Razorbacks will open the season with five straight home games, beginning November 12th against Florida A&M. The first road game will come over the Thanksgiving holiday as Arkansas plays in the UTEP Thanksgiving Classic against the host Miners as well as High Point and Idaho State.
The schedule also includes a border rival game against Oral Roberts in Fayetteville December 16th and against the Oklahoma Sooners on December 19th.
Head coach Tom Collen says he's excited about the challenges his team will face this season.
"We are more talented and experienced than a year ago and our schedule gives us many great opportunities to showcase our team and our program this season," Collen said. "I think we have a great mix of games home and away. Oklahoma will be a great test just before Christmas break."
The SEC schedule begins January second. Florida, which made the Women's NIT last season, will be their first opponent in a game played in Gainesville, Florida.
The SEC Tournament begins March third in Nashville.
"I know our fans have high expectations for our program," said Collen. "We are really working hard on playing well at home and controlling our own fate throughout the season. We have great fans and they deserve to see us play well against all of the great teams on our schedule."
