Emmy award winning journalist Heather Crawford anchors Channel 7's weekend evening newscasts. You can watch her at 6 & 10pm on Saturdays and 5 & 10pm on Sundays.
Heather joined the KATV news team in 2006. She moved to the Natural State from just across the border in Tennessee where she was an investigative reporter and fill-in anchor at FOX 13 in Memphis. She has always loved the news and from a young age knew she wanted to be a journalist. She got her big break right out of college when she was hired as a reporter at WAKA in Montgomery, AL. From there she jumped to WLFL in Raleigh, North Carolina where she was a reporter/anchor .
Heather grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina and is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of North Carolina State University. During college she spent a semester abroad in Seville, Spain and speaks Spanish fluently.
Heather loves investigative reporting and has received national awards for her work. Her documentary "West Memphis Three: Justice Served?" garnered an Emmy, Edward R Murrow award, Hermes Platinum award, Telly and several other honors. She also received a First Place Associated Press award for Best Investigative Reporting for shining the spotlight on cell phone abuse occurring at taxpayer's expense in a local school district. She is the proud recipient of a national MADD award for exposing a habitual drunk driver in Arkansas.
Heather loves living and working in Arkansas and is happy to be closer to her extended family in Hot Springs and Prescott. Her favorite thing about the Natural State is the incredibly friendly and outgoing people. When she isn't on the anchor desk or working on a story you can find her spending time with her family. She and her husband have two young children.
Heather would love to hear any tips or story ideas you have. You can follow her on Twitter KATVHeather and Facebook.
