Umpire - Authorities say an attorney from south Arkansas is under investigation by Arkansas State Police for fraud.
The investigation into the actions of Terry Lynn Smith began after a Lockesburg couple reported losing more than $500,000 that they had given Smith to invest.
Wannell Bradshaw sued Smith in 2007 and won a $554,000 default judgment against him, plus interest and attorney's fees.
After reviewing the allegation, the Arkansas Supreme Court Committee on Professional Conduct suspended Smith as an attorney for three years. Smith must also "show his good-faith effort" to satisfy the $554,103.55, plus interest.
The Supreme Court committee asked prosecutors to investigate, and it's since been turned over to state police. The investigation is continuing.
