Fayetteville - A northwest Arkansas TV station got a little too close to the news this week.

A truck for Fort Smith-Fayetteville television station KFSM rolled into the White River late Wednesday as the crew was setting up a live shot. KFSM's president and general manager says the truck appears to be a total loss, but they're thankful no one was hurt.

The crew was reporting on a drowning in the White River in southeast Fayetteville.

The station says the truck had a satellite dish that allows for live broadcasts, along with equipment including a camera, batteries and lighting kits. Preliminary damage is estimated at about $250,000.

A tow truck pulled the truck from the river Thursday afternoon.
