Fort Smith - Police in Fort Smith say a man wanted in the shooting of an officer during a traffic stop has been arrested in New Mexico.
Police say Tristan Honey walked into a port of entry station in San Jon, N.M., about 6:30 p.m. Sunday and surrendered. The town is about 20 miles east of the New Mexico-Texas state line.
Honey is wanted in the shooting of Cpl. Barney Parsons after Parsons stopped a sport utility vehicle for running a stop sign just after 1:15 a.m. Sunday. Police say the driver got out of the SUV and began shooting - hitting Parsons in the chest, leg and foot.
Parsons was listed in stable condition at a Fort Smith hospital.
