Yeah, It's just hype I bet half of that amount was spent on GAS getting back and forth to those stores. As for me and my household we will celebrate the true meaning of christmas this year!! That is the birth of our lord and savior Jesus Christ. Sure we'll exchange some gifts, but I refuse to spend as I have in year's past, mostly because I simply can't afford it.

"Not even a drop in the bucket compared to Iraq" ______________________________________________________________________

How does this story compare to Iraq?? What consumers spend has absolutely nothing to do with the War in Iraq, nor the War Against Terror. The money spent by the U.S. in Iraq and Afghanistan is approved and appropriated by Congress. All the President can do is ask for the money to be approved. In addition, using the same intelligence the President had available to him, Congress approved the invasion of Iraq. Nothing was kept from them, so let's put that tired old lie to bed about Bush lying and taking us into war all by his lonesome. Get your facts! JMO

Not even a drop in the bucket compared to Iraq. How much do we spend on gas driving to stores for holiday shopping? In the trillions!!!
