Please get your facts man! The U.S. imports only 25 percent, plus or minus 5 percent, of the oil we use. I haven't read anything you've posted that is factual. I guess you're just hoping that someone will be dumb enough to believe you. The Saudis are a part of the OPEC Cartel and they do help set the price of oil per barrel, coming out of the Middle East. They are not our friends! The U.S. is just a necessary ally to have, because of the threat of possible takeover by more radical Islamic factions within Saudi Arabia. Huckabee is right! We do need to take a long hard look of who we are dealing with, in the Middle East. JMO

WOW! Lets blame the Saudi's for America's oil addition. We import 60X of our oil. I agree with the poster that oiling drilling companys that are drilling in the gulf are capping off the well but it takes about 2 years to get that oil on the market or so they say. And the big oil companys don't want cheaper oil as long as there is a oil man in the White House. Oil was $28 a barrel in 2000 now its almost $100. No new refineries are being built. All the politicians from both parties are not doing a thing about it. Talk about both parties being asleep at the wheel. How long can the economy keep going with high oil like it is.

Trans Ocean Drilling, one of, if not the largest drilling company in the world just capped off the largest oil reserve ever drilled in the Gulf of Mexico and we (the USA) do not have the capability to refine it fast enough. There are NO NEW REFINERIES even in the planning stages to be built in the near future thanks to the tree huggers that lobby Washington on a regular basis. If we ever hope to get the tidal wave of high oil prices back under control people MUST start calling their US Senators and Representatives. We can sit back and gripe and whine or get off our backsides and start ringing phones until they get tired of hearing from us. That is the way politics works. The cog that squeaks the loudest gets the grease. Crude, maybe, but that is the way it is.

You guys havent been thur texas or oklahoma have ya? THere is so many oil well cap off there, that will support our nation only. During a road trip i stop by a few of those wells and read the tags on them. Each tag has est of how much oil is in that well, and when it was drilled. Few wells that i looked at has over 10million gallions of oil in each well. So why are they still capped if they got this much oil in them. We do have the resources to use our oil to supply our demand, so why are we still using somebody elses?

Huckabee almost sounds like a good man to be President of the United States, in command of every nuke in our arsenal, .... until you realize that he thinks the world is 6000 years old, and that the end of the world will be a good thing, if you are one of the chosen few. Drill, Drill,Drill,Drill,lets get the oil and THEN work on alternative fuel sources, instead of doing it azz backwards, like going broke while we are waiting on fuel alternatives to be discovered, it's like standing around with a CD in your hand and saying I'll be glad when someone invents a CD player so I can listen to this CD. By drilling and declaring oil independence, we defeat terrorists at the same time, I mean before WE went to the Middle East and drilled the oil, all they had over there was sand and camels, then they took the oil wells away from us (Nationalized them), if produce all the oil we use, then they will go back to selling and and camels and that market won't give them enough money to sponsor terrorists, and for you liberals, I know saying sand and camels is not politically correct, but it's da*& sure accurate
