U.S. Marshals Museum Artifacts Arrive in Fort Smith
posted 9:30 am Fri November 09, 2007 - Fort Smith
Historical documents and artifacts that hold the story of the U.S. Marshals Service arrived Thursday at Fort Smith, where the agency is building a new museum.
ABF Freight System trucked in the collection from Cheyenne, Wyoming, as part the trucking company's contribution in helping the city secure the museum project.
Sandi Sanders, museum project director, says the artifacts will be stored by the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism until the building is complete.
Organizers have discussed building a 30,000-square-foot museum at a cost of between $10 million and $20 million.
