22-Month-Old Boy Dies After Being Hit by Vehicle

Springdale police say they responded to the call at 4:18 p.m. Saturday. Police Sgt. Ed Motsinger says the older brother was moving the minivan so he could play basketball and didn't see the younger child behind him.
Motsinger says an older sister was supposed to be watching the 22-month-old boy but that he was unattended when he was hit by the vehicle.
Motsinger says he didn't know if the parents were home at the time of the accident or if the brother had permission to move the minivan from the driveway.
He says the names of those involved won't be released until the police report on the accident is finished.
