Mourners began filling the 650 seats in the sanctuary of St. Andrew's Anglican Church more than an hour before the service was set to begin. Another 150 or so watched on television monitors in a vestibule and parlor.
Pressly, 26, died Saturday of injuries suffered in a brutal attack at her home on October 20th. St. Andrew's pastor, the Right Reverend Philip Jones told mourners that no parent wants to outlive his or her child. But, Jones said, God is with them in their suffering, and that there's no more crying or pain in heaven.
He said Pressly is more alive now than she's ever been.
“We thank you for giving her to us, her family and friends, to know and to love as a companion on our earthly pilgrimage," Jones said.
