Sen. Gilbert Baker (R-Conway) will hold a press conference at 3:00 p.m. Thursday to address what his campaign is calling "an illegal political attack."

The press conference will be held at the Faulkner County Republican Headquarters at Front and Main streets in downtown Conway.

A mailer questioning Baker's relationship with the University of Central Arkansas went out Thursday morning to an as yet unknown number of Conway homes.

Nothing on the mailer indicates that Democratic challenger Joe White's campaign issued or approved the advertisement, and White's name does not appear on it.

Alex Bissell, a spokesperson for White's campaign, confirmed that the mailers were paid for by the Joe White for Senate Campaign.
