Little Rock - Sixteen bids have been submitted for proposals to move the Arkansas State Fair or to renovate its current home.
Tuesday was the last day to submit proposals for a new location for the fairgrounds, currently located in Little Rock. The Arkansas Livestock Show Association had asked for proposals for a new location
The request called for at least 350 acres within 35 miles of the existing state fairgrounds and within sight of an interstate or four-lane highway.
Areas that have submitted bids include Carlisle, Conway, Jacksonville and Saline County. Little Rock, which has advocated renovating the fair's current home, also submitted a proposal.
The proposals will be opened next week, but the association's general manager says the group's executive committee probably won't look at the proposals until after next month's state fair.
