As the population of Conway continues to grow, so too does the interest in the arts.
Terry Riciano has been an artist almost all of his life. Now he shares his art--as well as others’--in Conway's only full-time art gallery, Riciano Art Gallery.
Right now, there are more than 23 artists represented, and about 150 pieces of art on display.
Terry says the booming population in Conway has really embraced his desire to educate the public on the arts.
(Terry Riciano, Owner/Artist) “The community has been great. It's really supported us a lot. We get a lot of support from the different colleges. All three colleges have big art curriculums so we've had a lot of support with them.”
The Ricianos also teach public and private art classes at the gallery, and encourage all different kinds and styles of art.
(Riciano) “Traditional realists type paintings, drawings, we've got everything from metal sculptures to clay sculptures, black and white photography, abstracts. You name it, it's in here.”
For Terry and Lacey, it's all about sharing their love of art with others--and encouraging others to feed their own love of the arts.
(Riciano) “You've just gotta stick with it. If you've got a passion for it, stick with it.”
Riciano Art Gallery is located on Oak Street in downtown Conway. They also offer art contests, and an after-hours party on the first Tuesday of every month.
