Mike Huckabee says he hasn't been approached by John McCain (web|news|bio) about being the U.S. presidential candidate's running mate. But he'd certainly consider the offer.
Huckabee says he doesn't think anyone who has run for the U.S. presidency would turn down a chance to be vice president. The former Arkansas governor dropped out of the presidential race last March after McCain clinched the nomination.
McCain may name his running mate between the end of the Democratic convention on August 28th and the start of the Republican convention on September 1st.
Huckabee says he doesn't consider himself a candidate for the vice presidency, though his name has been mentioned as a possibility. He says it would "disrespectful" to suggest who the choice should be.
Huckabee spoke to reporters in Jerusalem Tuesday.
