Menifee, AR - Armed assailants attack a man in rural Conway County, but the man's son fights back. Now, one of the suspects is dead.

The attack happened early Friday morning just outside of Menifee in Conway County. Jim Davin can tell you what it's like to square off with two armed men and survive. He came away with a few scratches on his face. His attackers weren't as lucky.

Jim Davin, Conway County "Those guys had 1 intention and on their mind they even had duct tape and rope in their backpack, and that one intention was to kill me and my family."

Jim Davin's day started early. Around 7:30 AM, two armed men wearing jumpsuits attacked him in his driveway.

"We fought all the way over to the wall here and both of them were on top of me and I was just trying to stay alive."

Davin got some help reaching that goal when his son, Tommy, woke up, pointed his gun at the attackers, and gave them a warning. One of the men didn't listen and made a move toward the house.

"He draws his weapon and he walks right over here underneath the window waiting for the guy I was talking to to come out that door. He would have probably killed him if he walked out but he lifted up that window and yelled out a warning when the guy lifted up his gun, then of course my son fired on him."

Tommy's bullet tore through the screen and hit the assailant right under the eye, killing him. After the shot was fired, the other attacker fled. Davin says police caught up with him and a woman who may have been driving the get-away.
Police have not released the names of the suspects at this time.
