Sonora - Authorities planned to resume searching Friday for a 21-year-old Springdale woman who last was seen slipping underwater in Beaver Lake near Blue Springs.
Elizabeth Hollowell is officially considered to be missing until her body is recovered from the lake.
Authorities say her boyfriend, 27-year-old Jerry Nichols, told them that Hollowell was not a good swimmer and was on an inner tube when he saw her go underwater early Thursday.
Sgt. Bret Hagen of the Washington County Sheriff's Office says Nichols looked for Hollowell, then called 911 about 12:40 a.m.
Hagan says a third-party witness confirmed Nichols' account.
Authorities searched for Hollowell until 7:30 p.m. Thursday, using sonar equipment and focusing on an area of water about 30 feet from the bank.
