Little Rock - Rural communities in Arkansas will receive $911,000 in federal stimulus funds to buy police cars, fire trucks and other safety equipment.
Members of the state's congressional delegation made the announcement on Wednesday in Washington.
MeGehee-Desha County Hospital will receive $100,000 of that amount to purchase equipment.
The cities of Bradley, Marianna, McCrory, Prescott, Brinkley, Dermott, Hoxie, Huntsville, Lake View, Paris and Parkin all will receive funds for either police cars, police equipment, fire trucks or fire equipment.
Monroe, Sharp and Jackson counties also will receive funds, along with the Arkansas Methodist Hospital Corporation and the Clifty Rural Fire Department.
