Jonesboro - The circulation director for The Jonesboro Sun was killed when the truck he was working on fell on him.
Police say 45-year-old Richard Bales was working on the truck in a city-owned parking lot next to his home Wednesday when it fell. Police say the death appears to be an accident.
Bales was found pinned under the truck about 3:10 p.m. by assistant circulation manager Lorri Householder, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Householder had gone looking for Bales when he failed to return to work.
Bales had worked at The Sun since December 2007 after working as the state circulation sales and marketing manager for several Gannett Corp. newspapers in Louisiana.
He's survived by four children.
