Tragedy took place in Garland County Saturday afternoon after a house fire claimed the life of an elderly Hot Springs woman.
The fire started just after 3:00 p.m. at 2202 Lake Shore Drive. When Hot Springs firefighters arrived, the home was already partially engulfed with flames shooting from the rear of the home.
When they made it inside, they found 86-year-old, Margaret Nooner unresponsive in her bed. Attempts to resuscitate Miss Nooner were unsuccessful.
Fire officials are investigating, but believe the fire started from the back deck of the home.
