Authorities say a train derailment that shut down Mammoth Spring State Park last month was caused by a railroad employee who forgot to set a brake, causing the cars to come loose and strike another train.
Fulton County Sheriff Walter Dillinger says three cars tumbled into Mammoth Spring Lake in the June 3rd derailment.
BNSF spokesman Joe Faust says he's not aware of any workers being fired over the incident.
"It's still under investigation," Faust said. "When the investigation is complete, we'll issue a preliminary report of what occurred."
No one was injured in the derailment, and the park reopened a day later.
