A private business is preparing to open its doors at the refurbished Quawpaw Baths on historic Bathhouse Row in Hot Springs.
The park service has been working to rehabilitate the bathhouses and lease the structures to bring them back into use.
Part-owner Don Harper of Quawpaw Baths and Spa says he expects to have a "soft" opening within a few weeks. The spa will offer communal and private bathing in the thermal waters as well as spa services and concessions.
Quawpaw's investors signed a 55-year lease with the National Park Service. No firm opening date has been announced.
The Buckstaff Bath House opened in 1912 and is the only bath house on the Row that has stayed in continuous operation.
