Authorities say a 32-year-old Osceola man has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder in the death of a 3-year-old girl.
Police arrested Jonathan Bernard Davis in last month's death of E'Shana Vornes. Police say Davis and the child's mother, Antwonette Henderson Vornes, took the child to a hospital in Blytheville on June 15th.
"There is a hospital here in Osceola, and they drove 12 miles to Blytheville," Osceola Police Chief Ray Rigsby said at the time. "We also found out the mother and her boyfriend had the child at the Osceola hospital three weeks ago (from June 15th) with suspicious injuries."
An autopsy says the girl suffered bruising to her abdomen and internal bleeding. Vornes has been charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.
Davis, who remains jailed on a $1 million bond, has a July 25th arraignment.
