Little Rock - In tonight's “Your Money” report our Jason Pederson has been searching the internet for ways to save you money.
Plus he shares details about a deal that allows you to keep your stuff if you lose your job.
###
Chances are if you still have a gift card from the holidays, you probably don't want it or don't need it. Rather than let it expire….sell it, trade it or exchange it at www.plasticjungle.com.
Plastic Jungle will exchange any gift card over $25 with credit that can be spent at www.amazon.com. Or the site will pay you 85 percent of the value of your card, you can try to find someone willing to swap or you can try to sell it for cash. And Plastic Jungle guarantees all cards listed on the site.
Another site you may want to check out…especially if you dislike credit card debt…is www.shopdebtfree.com. It features stores in what it calls a debt free mall that let you pay with cash by using your online banking system. Of course, using a debit card does about the same thing and allows you much more selection.
And if you are more interested in saving money than spending it, check out www.billshrink.com. This site is set up to help consumers save money on their bills…especially their phone and credit card bills. It looks at what you need and searches for the best deals.
And one of the nation's oldest retailers is blazing a new trail in a down economy.
If you spend more than $399 on appliances at Sears…stuff like washer and dryers, refrigerators and ovens…during the last three weeks of July and then later lose your job, Sears will make your payment each month you are out of work. The offer will begin July 6th.
