A rape suspect is back in custody after fleeing the Dunklin County Justice Center in Missouri.
County officials say Dewey Odell Hopper Jr. is back behind bars. The 42-year-old was apprehended Wednesday and returned to the facility he escaped from on Saturday by allegedly crawling under two sets of chain-link fences.
Hopper was being held on charges of rape and tampering with judicial proceedings. Sheriff Bob Holder says Hopper is also a parole absconder from Arkansas.
The sheriff says Hopper's crime history includes assault, burglary, weapons violations, sex offenses and arson in Missouri and Arkansas.
There was no immediate word on where authorities found him.
