A Miller County corrections officer faces charges in what could be called a fast-food smuggling venture - sneaking syringes inside of tacos and marijuana under chili for prisoners.
Authorities say 25-year-old Jordan Michael Waller had worked at the lockup for two months before trying to enter the jail with three pizzas at 3:00 a.m. Saturday. Miller County Investigator Mike Liles says that 20 minutes after bringing in the pizzas, Waller brought in what appeared to be a large bag containing chili and tacos.
A sergeant at the jail became suspicious of the late-night snacks and searched the food.
Authorities say that along with marijuana and syringes, the sergeant also found tobacco, methamphetamine and some drug paraphernalia on Waller.
Waller has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia and furnishing prohibited items into a correctional facility.
Miller County District Judge Wren Autrey set $100,000 bond for Waller.
The public defender's office said its attorneys had yet to talk to Waller, whose next court appearance is scheduled for June 17th.
