Fayetteville - A Fayetteville teenager faces federal charges in connection with the theft of $140,000 in cash from the home of Tyson Foods Inc. chairman John Tyson.
Ryan Matthew Silvey, 19, was arraigned Thursday in federal court on charges of transporting stolen property across state lines. Trial is set for July 22nd.
Silvey was arrested February 13th by an FBI (
web) task force in Olathe, Kansas. Authorities say the theft occurred at a December 27th party thrown by Tyson's daughter.
If convicted, Silvey faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Police have issued two other arrest warrants in connection with the case. Logan Lorenz, 24, has pleaded not guilty to theft by receiving and has been released on $10,000 bond. A warrant has been issued for Bryce Kelly Anderson, 19, who has not yet been located, authorities said.
