The Arkansas Appeals Court has overturned a state panel's decision to deny a Whirlpool worker compensation for his on-the-job injuries.

The appeals court said the Workers Compensation Commission was wrong to reject a neurosurgeon's opinion that Larry Roberts' back injuries were related to his work at Whirlpool Corporation's refrigerator plant in Fort Smith.

The court sent the case back to the commission for a decision in accordance with the ruling.

Roberts was injured when he was moving 1,900 pounds of batteries.
