A federal grand jury has accused a fast-food restaurant night manager who also pursued bail-jumpers of impersonating a U.S. marshal, the U.S. attorney's office said Thursday.
Authorities say Jonathan Horton, 33, who lives in a mobile home at Jacksonville, carried a badge in a holder around his neck and put a sign in the rear window of his truck that said "U.S. Fugitive Task Force K-9 Unit." Authorities say there is no such unit.
A number of residents complained that Horton represented himself as a federal marshal. One woman said Horton identified himself as a marshal while looking for a man who skipped out on his bond.
