It's a combination of artistic and spiritual expression, and it's happening in the Little Rock River Market on Friday.

The Collaboration of the Arts is a setting for all kinds of artists to express their gifts. The one commonality between all the artists is their Christian faith.

(Sharon Hacker, Founder) “The artists--they were excited about what was going on, and the community came in and began to take part, and it was just a vibrant time.”

Collaboration of the Arts offers performing artists like vocalists, musicians, and dancers--as well as the visual arts, such as sculptures, paintings, writings, photography. New this year is a student art contest.

Founder and organizer Sharon Hacker says the idea just hit her one day a couple of years ago--and she decided to turn it into a reality.

(Hacker) “Inside it was like, ‘Collaboration of the Arts—okay, what's this about?’ And I began to question the Lord about that and He said, ‘Imagine all the arts flowing together, all the various artists coming together under My direction.’ And I just began to see images of the various artists, and I said, ‘Yeah, yeah--I can see it.”

All the art will also be for sale through a silent auction. But the real meaning of the event is to bring Christian artists together.

(Hacker) “It's about bringing awareness to our community, and being a witness out in our community.”

The Collaboration of the Arts will be held in the Little Rock River Market on May 9th at 7:30 p.m.
