The Arkansas Supreme Court says a lawsuit filed by parents who say Tyson Foods and others should be held responsible for their son's cancer can go forward.

The high court overturned a judge who dismissed the complaint against Tyson Foods, George's Farms and Simmons Foods. The Supreme Court said Thursday that Mary and Michael Green had presented sufficient evidence to proceed to trial against the companies.

The Greens claim that arsenic in chicken litter may have caused their son to get leukemia when he attended Prairie Grove schools.

The Greens' case is one of many that make similar claims. The family has also appealed a jury verdict that found that the makers of the arsenic-based feed additive were not responsible for the cancer.
