Among the three dead was a small child in Van Buren County. A half dozen residents were sent to area hospitals with injuries.

The southern end of Van Buren sat right in the tornadoes path Friday morning. Caldwell feed mill was knocked off its foundation. Employees and a customer sought shelter under storm.

(Paul Maxwell) "We saw it so we got in the basement. When you hear a black train, you hear a black  train, it's a  loud noise, pretty terrifing."

Once the storm passed crews quickly began rescuing and searching for loved ones.

(Steve Maxwell, Clinton) "I was down the road, saw the truck crumpled up, didn't know what to think, he popped up.  I am so thankful to see my brother."
