Little Rock - Commerce Secretary Gary Locke is to visit Arkansas to announce government grants to cover repairs from tornadoes, floods and severe storms that cut through the state last year.
The appearance at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock on Friday will be Locke's first as Commerce Secretary. The money is to aid the recovery from storms last year that included flooding in some places that destroyed homes and businesses.
The state is only about a week into its response to the April 9th tornado outbreak that left Mena in a shambles and Dierks without running water.
Locke is also to take part in a town hall session while at the UALR campus. He is a member of President Barack Obama
