Corning - A small airplane has crashed in Corning, according to authorities, but no one was hurt.
It happened just about 11:45 AM according to Corning Chief of Police. The Clay County Sheriff added that Richard Wenzel, the pilot, had just purchased a cropduster from the area when he was leaving the airport to fly home to Minnesota.
The Sheriff adds that the man had gotten about 150 feet into the air when his engine quit. To avoid landing on the highway, the Sheriff says Wenzel banked right and landed in a field. He was uninjured in the landing.
No other injuries were reported in the accident. The Sheriff says the crop duster was a model 81 301(a).
