An employee of the Pine Bluff School District has been suspended for allegedly making bogus purchase orders and asking for payments of more than $100,000.
The Pine Bluff Commercial reports that Superintendent Frank Anthony told employee Lynda King she was suspended as of April 4th, and that he would recommend that she be fired.
The written notice, obtained by the newspaper through the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act, cited misconduct as the basis for King's suspension and Anthony's recommendation. It said King prepared purchase orders and requested payment for what appeared to be a fictitious vendor.
The notice also said the school district would seek a criminal investigation.
King could not be reached for comment.
