It's an art gallery for--and run by--artists.
(Seth Bailey, Owner/Manager) “It's really a way to express your creativity and show people how you see the world. Artists see things that other people don't see. We see the beauty in everything--the sky and the trees and the leaves and the flowers--and so we try to capture that and put it in our pictures.”
Seth Bailey has been an artist for as long as he can remember. Now Bailey is offering a place where he--and more than 30 other artists—can display and sell their work.
What makes this gallery unique is that there's only a 10% commission on artwork that is sold--something that is highly appreciated by the participating artists.
(Bailey) “I really feel like I want a gallery that's fair to the artist, and run by artists and in the community.”
With a variety of artwork that ranges from oil paintings to sculptures, Bailey hopes to bring artists together with his new venture--even if it means taking a chance.
(Bailey) “It's a risk for a starving artist like myself to open this up, but I think we got to get all the artists pulled together so we can pay the rent and get a place open.”
Gallery Bailey is having a grand opening Thursday, April 10th, which is open to the public. It's located at The Village at Rahling Road and Chenal Parkway in west Little Rock.
