In May, the government will begin sending free money to Americans hoping to pump some life into a stagnant economy.

To qualify for your cash all you need to do is file a tax return.

If you haven't filed a return in years and need some help.

Tax day is less than three weeks away.  For many seniors, April 15th hasn't been a deadline for years.  Their social security, Veterans disability, railroad benefits or other sources of retirement income don't require them to file.

(Johnnie Pugh/ACORN) “A lot of the elderly have not filed income tax. And they say 'Oh I don't file. Why do I have to?' And I have encouraged them that they must to get this economic stimulus package.”

To get their three-hundred dollars only a few lines of a 1040-A form need to be filled out.  This Saturday members of ACORN and the IRS will help low-income workers, retirees, disabled veterans and others fill out those 1040-A forms for free.  Just bring a picture id, verify your social security number, and any documents related to your retirement income.

(Pugh) “They must file if their income is as much as $3,000. And we're asking all of them that can to come Saturday morning. We'll be here to help them get this done.

Super Saturday's two central Arkansas locations are the federal building in Little Rock and the Reynolds Center in Pine Bluff.

Volunteers will be on hand to help from nine am to three pm.
