The Woodruff County Sheriff’s Office says it’s looking for a man who used a flashing blue light to pull over a car full of teenage girls.
According to authorities, the teens were driving along Highway 64 near Augusta Saturday night, when an unmarked car with a flashing blue light pulled up behind them.
The man—who never identified himself—told the girls he stopped them for speeding, although he never issued the driver of the car a citation or written warning.
The girls told authorities that the man wasn't wearing a badge, carried only a flashlight, and never showed a weapon.
(Jim Harrison, Chief Deputy) “The ladies couldn't remember seeing a badge or any patches, so at this time I don't know if it was an off-duty officer, or someone impersonating an officer.”
Authorities aren’t ruling out the possibility that the driver of the unmarked vehicle was an officer from another jurisdiction.
The man is described as a white male, possibly in his mid-40's. He’s described as approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing roughly 170 pounds.
Harrison says no officer within Woodruff County or Augusta matches the description.
