Two suspects lead officials an a wild chase Friday. Lonoke County Sheriff Jim Roberson initially attempted to stop a blue extended-cab just after noon Friday at Lake Pickthorn in Cabot. When the driver sped off, running another vehicle off the road.
The driver later identified as 35-year-old, Thomas Justin Tipps of North Little Rock, left the lake area eventually heading north on Highway 67-167, driving the truck over the grassy divider, striking a patrol vehicle, going the wrong way in traffic and clipping an 18-wheeler.

The use of spike strips couldn't even stop him. The chase finally came to an end near the Austin exit, when police shot out the suspect's tires.
Tipps and his passenger, 42-year-old, Vanessa Kay Karr of Almyra were arrested. Both had active warrants out. Police also seized methamphetamine and other paraphernalia at the scene.
