Little Rock - This December the North Little Rock Rotary Club sponsored a book distribution program called "I Like Me" that gave over 700 kindergarden students books.
This is the first book many of the North Little Rock School District students will own. This personalized book has each child's
name, his two best friends, teacher, principal, and school. It also includes a message about learning to do the right thing, staying in school, learning to read, staying away from harmful substances, and developing self-esteem.
The North Little Rock Rotary Club arranged for and financed the publishing of this unique book with the non-profit organization Kindergartners Count, Incorporated. Approximately 45 volunteers ranging from Rotarians and their family members to the school district personnel were involved in the delivery and reading of books with kindergarten students.
The North Little Rock Rotary Club has sponsored the “I Like Me” program for 12 years.
