Recovery in the areas hardest hit is going to take time—and money. So KATV announced Wednesday it is re-activating the Neighbor in Need relief fund.
The fund was created following Hurricane Katrina to help our neighbors to the south, and was re-activated after tornados hit the Dumas area almost a year ago. Now, the fund is open again because help is needed again after Tuesday's killer twisters.
(Dale Nicholson, KATV President/GM) “If the people of Arkansas really want to reach out and help their neighbors, this is a great opportunity. No matter if it's $1, $5, $10--whether businesses want to help us--we need to help these people rebuild up in Clinton and areas of north Arkansas.”
KATV is kick-starting the fund with a $5,000 donation. Our money--and your money--will help the Red Cross meet the needs of those living in Arkansas' affected areas.
(Brigette Williams, Red Cross) “What I hear repeatedly from people that have been affected by a disaster is, ‘I turned around and I saw someone from the Red Cross there. I don't know how they knew I needed them--but I did.’”
The Red Cross has already sent several emergency response vehicles into the affected areas. Your money will help this mission.
