Little Rock - Lloyd Garrison is the new chief executive of CDI Contractors Inc., the largest construction firm in Arkansas.
CDI owner Dillard's Inc. made the announcement one day after William Clark, son of one of the founders of CDI, resigned. Clark said he resigned voluntarily.
Garrison has been employed with CDI since 1987, most recently serving as president. He has more than 30 years experience in the construction industry. Dillard's said Clark resigned "to pursue other interests" and the company accepted his resignation "reluctantly."
The firm was founded by William E. Clark and the Little Rock-based department store chain. The company went on to build the Clinton Presidential Library, the new lodge at Mount Magazine and a major expansion of the Alltel Corp. headquarters at Little Rock.
William E. Clark died in 2007, and his son then took over as CEO.
Last August, Dillard's bought the Clark half of CDI for $9.8 million.

On January 28th last year, CDI chief financial officer John Glasgow vanished and investigators have not been able to determine what happened to him. His car was found in Petit Jean State Park the day after he disappeared.
Both Dillard's and CDI have said there were no signs of fiscal mismanagement by Glasgow.
