Benton - A Saline County judge has denied a request by lawyers for Tiffany Nix to reduce her jail time.

Nix hit and killed a nine-year-old boy as he got off a school bus four years ago. She was originally spared prison time because she agreed to community service, and an unusual requirement that called for her to spend the anniversary of the child's death in jail each year.

In October, she violated her probation, and was sentenced to 120 days in jail.

Her attorneys asked to have that time reduced so she could take care of her own child, who is currently staying with Nix's grandmother.

You would think she could come up with a better excuse to shrink her jail time.  Let's see....she killed someone else's kid and that mom/dad can NEVER see them again but you want someone to have pity on you because you need to take care of your own child?  Not only that, you broke the law again?  Sorry-you need to sit out the remainder of your time in jail because when you killed that precious child you sentenced those parents to a lifetime in jail with no parole.
