Joyce Polacek said a seven-year wait to own a cute, little car was worth it. The Cotter woman first spotted the car, which measures just under nine feet, in Italy seven years ago, and said she fell in love with it. Made by Mercedes-Benz, the smart car was released in the United States this month and Polacek and her husband Rudy picked up a smart fortwo at Jackie Cooper Imports in Tulsa this week.
She had been on a waiting list for a year. The next day, the Polaceks drove to Mountain Home to register the small vehicle.

Parked outside the Arkansas Revenue Department, the odd auto attracted several people who stopped to inspect it or stare from afar.
The couple chose a mid-range model in a cheerful red-orange color. Although the car is tiny, it has plenty of safety features.
Inside, the car is roomier than it would seem. And as an added bonus, the car's side color panels can be interchanged for different colors.
The car features improved fuel economy and low carbon monoxide emissions. It can get 33 miles per gallon in the city and 41 miles per gallon on the highway.
