Be careful who you choose Gov. Beebe. If you choose the wrong people Arkansas will hate you forever. If the people you choose ever commit another crime that is a felony you will have it follow you. Just look at Huckabee and according to Bubbahollis, Bill Clinton as well.

Market, you do realize that a pardon is the only non-judicial way of controlling the judicial branch of our government and that it is part of the checks and balances system don't you. Also if you reference past Governors and Presidents in the past there have been thousands of pardons a year until the last 75 years. Your wish is coming true just give it time. If you really check into it the number seems to drop a little more with each decade.

First of all , you need to understand what a Pardon is before you say you are against ALL pardons. It does NOT mean he is letting those people out of prison,I'm sure in many cases they are already out and have been for quite some time. I have a friend that was convicted of B&E when he was 16, tried as an adult and spent the next six years in prison. He was release when he was 22, he is now 38 and hasn't even had a speeding ticket since then. I personally believe he DID in fact "do the time for the crime" he is STILL being punished even though he is grown up now and is a productive citizen, the only way for him to ever vote is to recieve a pardon from the Gov. In MY opinion people like him should be given that second chance, he has proven that he changed his ways.

I think all pardons are out of line, unless there has been new evidence presented that clears the individual from any wrong doing. In most cases these individuals have been tried by a jury of their peers and were sentenced under the law and should serve their time. There are way too many who have been let out and continue with a life of crime. Our Court system is in a tilt and it needs to be set right soon. In most cases the victims or their families suffer far more than the perpetrator. In addition, pleas should be all but eliminated, that allow an individual to receive favor from the Court. Let the crime fit the time and serve it all! JMO
