Highs will warm to normal levels this afternoon (near 90), but humidity levels will not be as bad as they can be this time of year. As we head into the end of the week and the weekend, heat and humidity will be on the increase. High temperatures should easily make it into the mid 90s across the state with higher humidity. This will send the heat index to around 100 to 105 degrees during the peak heating of the day.
There will be a very slight chance for isolated afternoon showers and storms starting Sunday. This is the typical summertime variety where any isolated storm that does develop will not last long and most will dissipate as the sun sets.
